Original Scots Songs by Davie Robertson, Recorded 2020

Here for 2020 are some more of the wise ponderings of Davie Robertson. Admittedly you won’t find much in the way of fine poetry or innovative music. Nor will you even find so much ribald humour as I once produced. Most of what’s here are mere observations of the behaviour of my fellow humans (and sometimes of my fallible self) with the composer’s comments often inferred, but occasionally shouted to the high heavens. There’s usually a trace of irony, which I’m sure not a few will define rather as a “nasty streak”. As always, some of the songs are based on fact, some are partially based on fact, and some are pure fiction and fantasy. I hope that somewhere among these 20 songs you may find something that strikes a sympathetic chord.
