Original Scots Songs by Davie Robertson, Recorded 2016
Every Wednesday I go for a walk, and every Wednesday I make up a song as I go. I don’t think I’ve ever failed to come back with one yet. Many are garbage or mere potboilers, but a few are not all that bad. I always remember the poet Hugh MacDiarmid saying on television many years ago that a poet should be like a volcano, continually spouting clouds of smoke and rubbish, and in among the debris there would be the occasional gem. I thought the following might be worth saving from the dross.
